経歴

2022年10月にMUFGに入社、グループChief Sustainability Officer（CSuO)として2025年3月末までグローバル金融機関におけるサステナビリティ戦略や取組方針立案、非財務情報開示等を主導。それ以前は、ベンチャー企業創業期に経営戦略、財務担当役員として参画、5年で上場を実現、また女性初の地方銀行副頭取にも就任するなど、金融業界において銀行・プライベートエクイティ・日本を代表する機関投資家など多様な立場を経験。企業経営・金融・サステナビリティを横断する視点で、日本と世界をつなぐ実践的アプローチを強みに、長年にわたり第一線で活躍。

Profile

Concluded her tenure as Group Chief Sustainability Officer (CSuO) of MUFG at the end of March 2025, after leading the development and execution of the group’s global sustainability strategy since joining in that role in October 2022.

Prior to MUFG, she played a key role in a startup from its early stage as an executive in charge of finance and corporate strategy, successfully leading it to an IPO within five years. She also became the first woman to serve as Deputy President of a regional bank in Japan. Her career spans diverse perspectives across the financial industry, including banking, private equity, and one of Japan’s leading institutional investors. With a cross-cutting view that integrates corporate management, finance, and sustainability, she has been active at the forefront of the field, bridging Japan and the world through practical, impact-driven approaches. She now works as an external advisor, supporting the transition to a more sustainable society.

略歴

1984年	大学卒業後野村総合研究所に勤務し主に中国への企業進出のサポートや国際動向のリサーチ業務に携わる After graduating from university, began her career at Nomura Research Institute, where she was engaged in supporting Japanese companies entering the Chinese market and conducting research on international developments.
1987年	ジャーディンフレミング投資顧問(現JPモルガン•アセット•マネジメント）にてトレーダーとして勤務 Joined Jardine Fleming Investment Advisors (now J.P. Morgan Asset Management) as a trader.
1995年	再就職支援会社に創立直後に入社し、経営戦略及び財務担当役員として創業5年での上場に寄与。上場後は、常務取締役としてIR対応にも携わる。 Joined a newly established career transition support company, where she served as Executive Officer in charge of corporate strategy and finance. Contributed significantly to the company’s successful listing within five years. After the IPO, continued to serve as a Member of the Board and Managing Director, with responsibilities including investor relations.
2004年	西京銀行の専務取締役に就任し、不良債権処理を行い財務体質を大幅に改善。地銀として初めて、女性向け融資３商品（女性起業家支援、資格取得支援、契約社員向けマンションローン）提供開始。翌年代表取締役副頭取に昇格 Appointed Member of the Board and Senior Managing Director of Saikyo Bank, where she led the disposal of non-performing loans and significantly improved the bank’s financial structure.In 2005, promoted to Deputy President and Member of the Board, becoming the first woman to hold this position at the bank in Japan.
2007年	プライベートエクイティのポラリス•プリンシパル•ファイナンス(現ポラリス•キャピタル•グループ)に常勤顧問として入社し、投資先企業の社外取締役として企業の再建に貢献 Joined Polaris Principal Finance (now Polaris Capital Group) as a full-time advisor. Served as an external board director for several portfolio companies, supporting their business turnaround.
2013年	第一生命入社。当初、第一生命のCSR取り組みやD&I推進に携わるが、スチュワードシップ•コード発足後異動し、アセットオーナーとして投資先企業役員との対話を積極的に行うと同時にESG投資を推進し機関投資家としての地位を確立。2020年からは第一生命の親会社である第一生命ホールディングスのグローバル・サステナビリティ副責任者として、第一生命のサステナビリティへの取り組みを推進する。(〜2022) Joined Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Initially involved in Dai-ichi Life’s CSR initiatives and D&I promotion, but after the launch of the Stewardship Code actively engaged in dialogue with portfolio companies executives as an asset owner while promoting ESG investments and establishing the premium position as an institutional investor in Japan. From 2020, served as Deputy Head of Global Sustainability at Dai-ichi Life Holdings, the parent company of Dai-ichi Life, promoted the company’s sustainability initiatives.(〜2022)
